The transition to a natural and organic deodorant
Adopt a natural and organic deodorant. Why ?
You use an antiperspirant, you no longer sweat, your armpits are dry, it's comfortable and you're happy with it. But beware, this is not without consequences. The ingredients of antiperspirant deodorants are potentially harmful for your health. Numerous studies argue on the subject. For our part, we choose a careful approach and stay away from essential oil, paraben, sulfate, phthalate, gluten, hormone or endocrine disruptor (benzophenone-1, benzophenone-3, BHA, Butylparaben, Potassium and Sodium Butylparaben, Cyclopentasiloxane, cyclotetrasiloxane, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, Propylparaben, Sodium Potassium or Propylparaben, Triclosan), phenoxyethanol, nanoparticle, as well as 28 allergens.
Parabens and aluminum compounds accumulate in breast tissue and increase the risk of breast cancer (in both women and men).
Antiperspirants are aluminum-based and often use paraben-based preservatives. All of these compounds are effective but potentially dangerous.
The active ingredients based on aluminum will form a temporary plug in the sweat duct which stops the flow of sweat towards the surface of the skin.
Parabens, on the other hand, mimic the activity of estrogen in the body's cells and may be responsible for the development of breast tumors.
Be careful with alum stone, it is an alloy of aluminum and potassium sulfate, harmful to health.
The transition
By choosing a natural and organic sweetener, you are choosing a healthy formulation for your health. You also choose to sweat. It's natural, but if you're not used to it anymore, it doesn't have to be pleasant. Your body will regulate itself, your pores will open and secrete all the accumulated toxins. You are likely to sweat more than usual for a period of a few days to two weeks. It depends on each one. Have you used an antiperspirant for a long time? Are you stressed out by your sweating? Healthy food and impeccable hygiene will help you limit bad odors.
Accept to sweat
Natural and organic deodorants are there to prevent bad smells, not to block perspiration. You will therefore sweat through your armpits: this is a completely normal and natural mechanism in the human body intended to help you regulate your temperature.
Deodorant application
Bad odors are caused by the proliferation of bacteria. Impeccable hygiene will allow you to limit them as much as possible. Clean your armpits with soap each time you shower and dry them well before applying deodorant. Let the deodorant dry on the skin before you get dressed.
Tip: If your armpits are hairy, use shampoo to wash them, this is most effective.
Persist
Finding the right natural and organic deodorant can take time. Every skin reacts differently: a product that works for me may not work for you, and vice versa. Take the time to tame your deodorant: try it long and - above all - give it the benefit of the doubt. So don't give up on a deodorant because it didn't work as well on the first day. Over time, you'll find the right one - and (probably) never change again.
